High Point extends Cherry's deal by 4 years

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) High Point has given coach Scott Cherry a four-year contract extension.

The deal announced Thursday keeps the former North Carolina player on the Panthers' sideline through the 2016-17 season. Cherry's salary was not disclosed by the private Methodist school.

High Point won the North Division of the Big South this season, the first for the school since moving to Division I in 1999.
