Kansas dismisses junior transfer Martin

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) Kansas has dismissed defensive lineman Chris Martin over what coach Charlie Weis calls the junior transfer's failure to follow some "stipulations" following his recent arrest.

Martin was expected to start in his first season with the Jayhawks. He played his freshman season at Florida and last year at City College of San Francisco.

Kansas announced his dismissal Monday in a brief statement that did not mention Martin's arrest over a May 13 incident at a Lawrence home. He was one of three men arrested on suspicion robbing people of cash and marijuana at gunpoint.
