N.C. Central, N.C. A&T headline All-MEAC

(STATS) - That MEAC champion North Carolina Central and runner-up North Carolina A&T overflowed with talented players this season was evident in the conference's postseason honors that were announced Monday.

Each team had seven first-team selections - more than twice as many as the next-closest team. In addition, North Carolina Central's Jerry Mack was named the MEAC coach of the year, while North Carolina A&T's Elijah Bell was chosen as the rookie of the year and Brandon Parker the offensive lineman of the year.

Adding in the All-MEAC second and third teams, N.C. Central had 17 overall selections and A&T 14. The champion Eagles (9-2) went 8-0 in conference play to qualify for the Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl on Dec. 17, while A&T (9-3) went 7-1 in conference play en route to gaining an at-large bid in the FCS playoffs.
