New Hampshire survives Stony Brook, 28-20

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) Cam Shorey blocked Graham Ball's potential game-tying extra point, Jimmy Owens broke a 51-yard touchdown run on the ensuing drive, and New Hampshire held on to beat Stony Brook 28-20 on Saturday.

Trailing 21-14 late in the fourth, Stony Brook drove 43 yards on four plays, capped by Conor Bednarski's 31-yard touchdown pass to Adrian Coxson, cutting the Wildcats' lead to 21-20 and setting up Shorey's and Owens' game-saving plays.

Owens led New Hampshire (6-1, 4-0 Colonial Athletic Association) with 74 yards on seven carries and quarterback Andy Vailas added 131 yards passing and 55 rushing with two scores.
