Bowl worthy: Vanderbilt upsets No. 24 Tennessee, 45-34

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) The Vanderbilt Commodores have a black bowling ball with a star "V" to celebrate earning a bowl berth on the field.

The bragging rights that go with a very big win over their in-state rival only makes the victory that much sweeter.

Kyle Shurmur threw for a career-high 416 yards, and Vanderbilt scored the final 21 points in an upset of No. 24 Tennessee 45-34 Saturday night that erased any doubts the Commodores belong in a bowl.
