Swansea City vs. Hull City Tigers
Minute Commentary
90' HONOURS EVEN IN WALES
Visiting Hull City grabbed a share of the spoils at the Liberty Stadium after a 1-1 draw against Swansea. Striker Danny Graham came back to Wales to haunt his former club with an early strike, but Chico Flores restored parity just before the hour mark. The opening goal arrived after nine minutes when Ashley Williams' poor pass was picked up by Ahmed Elmohamady. The Moroccan winger shrugged of a challenge before delivering a wonderful cross to the back post where Graham - who is on loan at the Tigers from Sunderland - was waiting to tuck the ball home. It was the first time he had found the back of the net in 30 matches, since Swansea's 2-0 Capital One Cup win at Chelsea in January. Michael Laudrup's side came out and picked up the pace in the second-half. They drew level after 59 minutes following a short corner which caught City cold. Jonjo Shelvey's vicious inswinging cross was slotted into the back of the net by Chico Flores. It was his first goal for the club, but there was a strong suspicion that the ball may have struck his hand as he diverted it home. Steve Bruce's side then felt they should have had a penalty when his son Alex Bruce's header clearly struck Dwight Tiendalli's hands, but referee Martin Atkinson decided against pointing to the spot. Hull move up to 12th in the table after the result while Swansea leapfrog Aston Villa into the top half of the table.
90' FULL-TIME
It's honours even at the Liberty Stadium as Hull City hold Swansea to a 1-1 draw in the Monday night football.
90' LUCKY BOY
Maynor Figueroa takes a chance down at the corner flag, but loses possession. However, he's a lucky boy because Wayne Routledge's volley is easily blocked as the cross came in. We're into FOUR added minutes of stoppage time at the Liberty Stadium.
88' WELCOME POINT
The Tigers have lost five of their last seven Premier League games, so a point would be welcome tonight. They will move up to 12th in the table if they can hold on with a couple of minutes remaining.
86' FLORES CLAIMS
Yannick Sagbo gets involved with Chico Flores. The Swansea player claims he is caught by an arm, but referee Martin Atkinson allows play to continue.
84' FLORES BOOKED
Chico Flores dives in late on David Meyler. That means he will be suspended for Swansea's next Premier League match against Norwich.
82' THREE YELLOW CARDS
Yannick Sagbo and Ashley Williams are both carded for pushing and pulling by referee Martin Atkinson. Jonjo Shelvey is also booked for getting involved. That incident was so out of character with this game.
80' FINE SAVE
Allan McGregor denies Michu from scoring thanks to a fine save with his feet and then it all kicks off on the far side.
79' CYNICAL FOUL
Maynor Figueroa is booked for a cynical foul on Nathan Dyer. Swansea have the free-kick on the right-edge of the box. It's swung over and Jose Canas' effort is deflected away for a corner.
78' FIERCE DRIVE
Yannick Sagbo strikes the ball beautifully from fully 25 yards, but Gerhard Tremmel gets across his goal to make an excellent stop.
76' NO GOAL
David Meyler is caught fractionally offside and despite tucking the ball away, he looks across to see the flag raised.
74' VERY NERVOUS
Jake Livermore's ball is very nearly sliced into the path of Robert Koren. Swansea are looking very nervous in defence and Hull sense that. They're throwing more men forward into attack.
72' BIG APPEALS
Alex Bruce's header from a rare Hull corner clearly strikes Dwight Tiendalli's hands, but referee Martin Atkinson doesn't give it amazingly. The visiting players all had their arms in the air frantically appealing for a penalty as does Tigers boss Steve Bruce.
69' ROUTLEDGE COMES ON
Pablo Hernandez is replaced by the pacey Wayne Routledge. That will give Hull something different to think about.
66' AMBITIOUS STRIKE
Jake Livermore tries to find Yannick Sagbo with a raking pass, but Ashley Williams steps in the way. Jonjo Shelvey then smashes his long-range shot high over the crossbar.
63' GRAHAM IS REPLACED
Goalscorer Danny Graham is replaced by Robert Koren. He receives a generous round of applause from the Liberty Park crowd on his way off the field.
59' SWANS RESTORE PARITY
The hosts decide to play a short corner and Jonjo Shelvey's vicious inswinging cross is slotted into the back of the net by Chico Flores. It's his first goal for the club, but there was a strong suspicion that the ball may have struck his hand as he diverted it home.
59' GOOOAAALLL!!!
CHICO FLORES
58' COMING ON STRONG
Swansea are unbeaten in four straight home league games, winning two and drawing two. They've scored ten times in those four contests, including three in back-to-back at the Liberty Stadium. They're coming on strong again as Alex Pozuelo looks to breach the City backline. The ball is coming back one way.
56' SWANS SUBSTITUTION
Yannick Sagbo is hacked down by Nathan Dyer which will relieve the pressure on Hull. Michael Laudrup has had enough and sends on Alex Pozuelo for Jonathan De Guzman.
52' DIRE EFFORT
Hull work the ball out wide and the delivery lands to Tom Huddlestone, but his effort on the half-volley is pretty dire. At the other end Jonathan De Guzman earns his side a corner-kick.
49' SAME AGAIN FOR SWANS
Jonjo Shelvey turns and twists away from big bushy haired Tom Huddlestone before finding Dwight Tiendalli, but his touch lets him down. Chico Flores then hands back possession, which is very un-Swansea like.
46' HERE WE GO AGAIN
Just ten seasons ago, these sides met in the fourth tier of English football and Swansea's last win over Hull was a 2-1 League Cup win in August 2008. The visitors seem to have an 'Indian sign' over their opponents and that's been proved so far tonight although there is still 45 minutes to go and Michael Laudrup's side will aim to turn this game around.
45' HULL LEAD AT THE BREAK
Visitors Hull City lead at the break at the Liberty Stadium as striker Danny Graham came back to Wales to haunt his former club Swansea. Despite Michael Laudrup's side dominating possession, City will be delighted with their no-nonsense style of defending and will look to frustrate again in the second-half.
45' HALF-TIME
Hull City lead Swansea 1-0 at the break thanks to a goal from striker Danny Graham.
45' STOPPAGE TIME
We're into just ONE minute of added time. James Chester concedes a corner after a dangerous delivery to the back.
44' POOR TOUCH
Jonathan De Guzman's touch lets him down after Jonjo Shelvey fizzed the ball into his feet. So much Swansea possession, but they have yet to test Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor.
42' LIVERMORE IN THE BOOK
Yannick Sagbo claims he is fouled in the area, but referee Martin Atkinson waves play on. Jonjo Shelvey's distribution lets him down and Hull come forward through Tom Huddlestone. Jake Livermore then brings down the flying Nathan Dyer for an obvious foul and yellow card to follow.
38' HULL WALL
Swans manager Michael Laudrup has seen his side keep the majority of possession, but they have failed to break down this Hull wall. Jonathan De Guzman's long-distance shot is still rising above the crossbar.
35' IMPRESSIVE DEFENCE
Jonjo Shelvey's right-footed corner is headed out by the impressive Curtis Davies. However, he gets a second chance to deliver, but Pablo Hernandez fouls James Chester at the back post.
33' HARD WORKING HULL
The Tigers break out from a Swansea corner which breaks down. David Meyler comes close to going straight through the heart of the Swans defence, until he loses his balance. Steve Bruce has got his side well organised and working for their team-mates.
30' POOR CROSS
Dwight Tiendalli finds Jonathan De Guzman's run, but his poor cross is cut out at the near post. Tiendalli then fouls his man whilst attempting to win the ball back for his side.
27' FIRED OVER
Jonjo Shelvey drops deep to collect the ball and look for Ben Davies' run from left-back. The pair combine again seconds later, but this time the Welshman fires over the crossbar, although Michu wanted the return having initially dummied Shelvey's pass.
25' ELMOHAMADY TRICKERY
Yannick Sagbo dispossesses Ben Davies, but Hull fail to take advantage. Moments later, Ahmed Elmohamady is allowed to get his cross in from the right but Gerhard Tremmel plucks the ball out of the air and sets the wheels in motion for another Swans attack.
21' PRESSURE MOUNTING
Michu finds Ben Davies and he is felled just inside the Hull half. Jonjo Shelvey's attempted through ball is headed away by Alex Bruce. The pressure on the visitors goal does seem to be mounting however.
18' CAUGHT OFFSIDE
Well, to Danny Graham's credit, he didn't celebrate after scoring against his former club. He blocks an attempted cross and then Jonathan De Guzman is caught in an offside position.
16' POOR DISTRUBUTION
Michu has not lost the ball yet. He's looked very lively up front. Chico Flores hands the ball to Yannick Sagbo after failing to look up and Hull are grateful for the gift as they keep a bit of possession to take the sting out of the game.
12' SHOCK TO THE SYSTEMS
Hull City do have a good record against Swansea having won three and lost none of the last four league meetings with their opponents. The hosts look shocked after conceding that early goal.
9' WOULDN'T YOU JUST KNOW IT
Danny Graham finds the back of the net for the first time since Swansea's 2-0 Capital One Cup win at Chelsea in January - but for Hull City! Ashley Williams' poor pass is picked up by Ahmed Elmohamady and he delivers a wonderful cross to the back post where Graham - who is on loan at Hull from Sunderland - was waiting to tuck the ball home.
9' GOOOAAALLL!!!
DANNY GRAHAM
8' COUNTER-ATTACKING AT ITS BEST
Swansea break away through Pablo Hernandez. He finds Jonjo Shelvey, who quickly moves the ball along to Michu and he then sends it wide to Hernandez once again, but he fails to deliver a decisive pass into the middle. That is met by groans of disapproval from the home supporters.
5' CURLED WIDE
We could be in for the proverbial game of two halves because Hull usually score goals in the first 45 minutes, while Swansea like to hit the back of the net in the second-half. Michu drops into a hole before picking out the pacey Nathan Dyer, but he curls his right-footed effort well wide of Allan McGregor's post.
3' DIFFERENT SYSTEMS
Swansea have set up in a 4-2-3-1 system with Michu up front on his own. Hull boss Steve Bruce has set up with a 3-5-2 formation with Danny Graham and Yannick Sagbo working in tandem in attack, although that can change to a 4-3-3 depending on how the full-backs get on.
1' WE'RE UNDERWAY
Here we go then at the Liberty Stadium, which is full to capacity for this Monday night clash. The pitch is in pristine condition although the weather is slightly chilly in Wales as you might expect. The home team are wearing their traditional white number while Hull - followed by a large number of away supporters in the far corner - are in their black and amber shirts and socks with black shorts.
0' SWANSEA TEAM NEWS
Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has striker Michu back back from an ankle injury after five weeks out, but he is without Wilfried Bony (hamstring) and Alvaro Vazquez (groin). Gerhard Tremmel replaces Michel Vorm (groin) between the sticks.
0' HULL CITY TEAM NEWS
Curtis Davies is back at centre-back after missing the midweek defeat at Arsenal through suspension. He takes his place in a back three alongside James Chester and manager Steve Bruce's son - Alex. Former Swans striker Danny Graham is also in the side and will be aiming to score his first goal for the club since his loan move from Sunderland.

0' MATCH PREVIEW
Swansea will be confident of making it successive Premier League victories on the spin as they host Hull City at the Liberty Stadium. Michael Laudrup's men produced a confident 3-0 victory over Newcastle last Wednesday and they will be hoping for more of the same tonight. Hull enjoyed mixed fortunes last week. Just three days after a gutsy performance had inspired a 3-1 win over Liverpool at the KC Stadium, City fell to a fourth consecutive away defeat in the league as they were soundly beaten 2-0 at Premier League leaders Arsenal. They have lost six times in seven away matches this season while the home side will be desperate to keep their momentum going ahead of their crunch Europa League tie in St Gallen on Thursday. However, their last win over the Tigers was a 2-1 League Cup success back in August 2008. This certainly has all the hallmarks of being a tight and tense affair! By @RazMirza
0' LAUDRUP EXPECTS BETTER
Despite Swansea being unbeaten in four straight home league games, winning two and drawing two, manager Michael Laudrup is a little surprised they haven't done better at the Liberty Stadium: "We don't look at whether we win at home or away, but it's true and a little strange. A team like us should get the majority of our points at home, but we have won more games away than at home. Points are points. Now we have two home games and we really hope we can get points here."
0' EARLY SWANSEA TEAM NEWS
Swansea boss Michael Laudrup will give his trio of injured strikers as much time as possible to prove their fitness ahead of tonight's clash. Michu (ankle), Wilfried Bony (hamstring) and Alvaro Vazquez (groin) are all injured and doubtful but with few alternatives available Laudrup will hope at least one of them may pull through in time to feature. If not, the Dane may elect to again play with a 'false nine' after the tactic proved successful in the midweek win over Newcastle.
0' BRUCE BACKS GRAHAM TO FIRE
Steve Bruce is hopeful striker Danny Graham can end his goal drought at his old club Swansea tonight. The Tigers boss signed the 28-year-old on loan for the season in the summer, but he has not found the back of the net since Swansea's 2-0 Capital One Cup win at Chelsea in January. "Danny played very well at the start of the season, got injured against Everton and hasn't scored the goals he would like," said Bruce. "But he's got to see it through, it's as simple as that. Could Swansea be the one where he turns it around? We'll have to see."
0' EARLY HULL CITY TEAM NEWS
Curtis Davies is available again after the defender missed the midweek defeat at Arsenal through suspension. Boss Steve Bruce must decide whether to recall him in place of James Chester. Striker Matty Fryatt will also be hoping to figure for Hull having recently returned to the club following a loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.
0' MATCH OFFICIALS
The referee in charge of this encounter is Martin Atkinson. The 42-year-old from West Yorkshire is a late appointment, taking over from Chris Foy. Atkinson takes charge of a Swans game for the second time in the space of five days. He was the man in the middle for their 3-0 win against Newcastle last Wednesday night. His assistants down the touchline are Harry Lennard and Matthew Wilkes, while the fourth official is Kevin Friend.
