Analysis: With Adrian Peterson having taken over the workload in the backfield, Ellington is only usable as a flex play in a PPR league because he should remain a major part of the passing game if healthy.

Analysis: Arizona's third-down back recorded nine catches for a second straight game and is averaging a useful 70 receiving yards over the past three weeks. With the Cardinals putting the ball in the air with frequency, Ellington should remain a factor in PPR leagues until David Johnson returns from his wrist injury.

Analysis: Ellington had a career-high nine catches and nearly had his first touchdown of the season on a 12-yard catch before it was overturned on replay. With Arizona's running game struggling, Ellington has become a force out of the backfield with 19 receptions on 30 targets.

Analysis: Ellington saw a lot of snaps in the second half with the Cardinals playing from behind and came through with a worthwhile contribution for PPR players. As Arizona's clear-cut passing-down back in the absence of David Johnson, he's starting to trend towards becoming a usable fantasy option once again.

Analysis: Ellington didn't enter the game until David Johnson exited with a wrist injury in the third quarter and was mostly used on passing downs. He could have a bit of fantasy value in PPR leagues if Johnson misses next week's game at Indianapolis, but won't be worth considering if Johnson does play.
|Aug. 13, 2017 12:05 PM PT1:05 PM MT2:05 PM CT3:05 PM ET19:05 GMT3:05 12:05 PM MST2:05 PM EST2:05 PM CT23:05 UAE15:05 ETNaN: - Ellington had seven carries for 20 yards and four receptions for 31 yards in Saturday's preseason win over the Raiders.
Analysis: This would seemingly be a good sign for Ellington that he'll be getting some touches to spell David Johnson, but veteran Chris Johnson remains in line for the No. 2 RB spot on the Cardinals and was only used on the opening series Saturday.

Analysis: Signed to a one-year deal earlier this month, Ellington has proven to be better in the passing game during his four seasons in Arizona and struggled in his lone campaign as the team's featured back. The 5-foot-9, 199-pound Ellington saw his carries dwindle from 201 in 2014 to a total of 79 over the last two seasons, including 34 for just 96 yards in 2016.
