Analysis: Cassel will be the backup next week when Tony Romo is expected to return to rescue the 2-7 Cowboys.

Nov. 2, 201512:04 AM PT1:04 AM MT2:04 AM CT3:04 AM ET8:04 GMT4:04 PM 北京时间1:04 AM MST3:04 AM EST2:04 AM CT12:04 UAE3:04 ET6:04 - Cassel didn't throw any interceptions Sunday, but he also passed for just 97 yards while connecting on 13 of 25 attempts in a 13-12 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: Cassel threw three interceptions in his Cowboys debut, a loss to the New York Giants. It's unclear how much longer Dallas will allow this to go on. You should obviously only use Cassel if you're desperate.
Oct. 25, 20154:41 PM PT5:41 PM MT6:41 PM CT7:41 PM ET23:41 GMT7:41 AM 北京时间4:41 PM MST6:41 PM EST5:41 PM CT3:41 UAE (+1)19:41 ET21:41 - Cassel's Dallas debut was a disaster Sunday.
Analysis: Cassel was picked off three times in the second half, completing 17 of 27 passes with one score. He was only sacked once so it's not like the pressure of the Giants' anemic pass rush bothered him. Instead he was awful because of his own lack of ability. Still, owner Jerry Jones reportedly said after the game that Cassel will start next week against Seattle.
Oct. 14, 20159:03 PM PT10:03 PM MT11:03 PM CT12:03 AM ET4:03 GMT12:03 PM 北京时间9:03 PM MST11:03 PM EST11:03 PM CT8:03 UAE0:03 ET3:03 - Cassel is taking over at quarterback for Dallas after Brandon Weeden lost all three of his starts in place of the injured Tony Romo.
Analysis: Coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday he made the move "to see if we can get our offense going a little bit more." The Cowboys (2-3) are on their bye and have about a week and a half to get Cassel ready to face the NFC East-leading New York Giants on Oct. 25. In Cassel, Dallas is picking someone with more experience - and more wins. Cassel made 71 starts for New England, Kansas City and Minnesota and has 33 wins to just five for Weeden.
Oct. 12, 20153:29 PM PT4:29 PM MT5:29 PM CT6:29 PM ET22:29 GMT6:29 AM 北京时间3:29 PM MST5:29 PM EST5:29 PM CT2:29 UAE (+1)18:29 ET21:29 - The Cowboys have the bye to consider a switch to Cassel from Brandon Weeden. Cassel started 71 games over seven seasons with New England, Kansas City and Minnesota - nearly three times as many starts as Weeden.
Analysis: The 33-year-old Cassel was inactive for two weeks while learning the Dallas offense, but replaced Kellen Moore as the backup to Weeden last weekend. Weeden has lost 11 straight starts and is in danger of losing his job - again.
Sep. 22, 20152:48 PM PT3:48 PM MT4:48 PM CT5:48 PM ET21:48 GMT5:48 AM 北京时间2:48 PM MST4:48 PM EST4:48 PM CT1:48 UAE (+1)17:48 ET20:48 - Cassel has been traded to the Dallas Cowboys.
Analysis: The Cowboys acquired Cassel from Buffalo on Tuesday, sending a fifth-round pick in 2017 to the Bills. Both teams announced the trade, and a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press what Buffalo received in return because the round of the pick wasn't disclosed. Dallas is in dire straits despite a 2-0 mark after the broken collarbone of fantasy stud Tony Romo.
Sep. 8, 20157:04 AM PT8:04 AM MT9:04 AM CT10:04 AM ET14:04 GMT10:04 PM 北京时间7:04 AM MST9:04 AM EST9:04 AM CT18:04 UAE10:04 ET13:04 - Cassel is back with the Buffalo Bills. The Bills announced they re-signed the 11-year journeyman Tuesday, a few days after Cassel was among the final players cut by the team.
Analysis: Cassel was released after losing the three-way quarterback competition to Tyrod Taylor, who was named the starter last week. Cassel was also scheduled to make a base salary of $4.15 million, which was deemed too expensive for a backup. Now Cassel will compete with former starter EJ Manuel to serve as the prime backup on Sunday, when Buffalo opens the season by hosting Indianapolis.
Sep. 2, 201510:01 AM PT11:01 AM MT12:01 PM CT1:01 PM ET17:01 GMT1:01 AM 北京时间10:01 AM MST12:01 PM EST12:01 PM CT21:01 UAE13:01 ET16:01 - The Bills have released Cassel.
Analysis: The expected move saves the Bills more than $4 million. Cassel was third on the depth chart after being outplayed by Tyrod Taylor and E.J. Manuel in the preseason. The veteran may need an injury to latch on with another team.
Aug. 8, 20158:55 PM PT9:55 PM MT10:55 PM CT11:55 PM ET3:55 GMT11:55 AM 北京时间8:55 PM MST10:55 PM EST10:55 PM CT7:55 UAE (+1)23:55 ET2:55 - Bills coach Rex Ryan confirmed that Matt Cassel will start at quarterback in Friday's preseason opener against Carolina.
Analysis: Cassel is in a three-way battle with EJ Manuel and Tyrod Taylor, a competition that could last deep into the preseason.
Mar. 4, 201510:18 AM PT11:18 AM MT12:18 PM CT1:18 PM ET18:18 GMT2:18 AM 北京时间11:18 AM MST1:18 PM EST12:18 PM CT22:18 UAE13:18 ET17:18 - The Minnesota Vikings and the Buffalo Bills have agreed on a trade that will send quarterback Matt Cassel to the Bills next week and fetch the Vikings extra draft picks.
Analysis: Cassel spent two years with the Vikings, taking over in 2013 after Christian Ponder struggled to keep the job. Cassel's production was up and down, with a total of 14 touchdown passes and 14 turnovers in 12 games. Now he will unite with brash and outspoken Bills coach Rex Ryan. The Bills have expressed a desire to add at least two quarterbacks for 2015 so prospective fantasy owners should hold their horses.
