|Dec. 6, 2017 9:59 AM PT10:59 AM MT11:59 AM CT12:59 PM ET17:59 GMT1:59 10:59 AM MST12:59 PM EST11:59 AM CT21:59 UAE12:59 ETNaN: - Stafford returned to practice on Thursday as he deals with a hand injury. We'll see how he progresses heading into the weekend, but he's expected to play.
Analysis: Stafford's right hand was stepped on in Sunday's loss at Baltimore, knocking him out of the game. Stafford and the Lions were relieved that X-rays were negative. He had bandages wrapped around his pinkie, ring and middle fingers on his right hand earlier this week.
|Dec. 4, 2017 11:38 AM PT12:38 PM MT1:38 PM CT2:38 PM ET19:38 GMT3:38 12:38 PM MST2:38 PM EST1:38 PM CT23:38 UAE14:38 ETNaN: - Stafford does not have any broken bones in his throwing hand and is just dealing with soreness, coach Jim Caldwell said Monday. "Nothing's popped up. He's just sore right about now," Caldwell said.

The 29-year-old Stafford completed 20 consecutive passes at one point versus Baltimore, finishing 24 of 29 for 292 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
|Dec. 3, 2017 2:04 PM PT3:04 PM MT4:04 PM CT5:04 PM ET22:04 GMT6:04 3:04 PM MST5:04 PM EST4:04 PM CT2:04 UAE (+1)17:04 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 24 of 29 for 292 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Detroit Lions' 44-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He threw one interception, fumbled once and was sacked three times. Stafford added two rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: Stafford suffered what the team is calling a bruised hand in this one, so keep an eye on how the injury progresses throughout the week.
|Nov. 23, 2017 1:55 PM PT2:55 PM MT3:55 PM CT4:55 PM ET21:55 GMT5:55 2:55 PM MST4:55 PM EST3:55 PM CT1:55 UAE (+1)16:55 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 20 of 35 for 250 yards and threw two touchdown passes Thursday in the Detroit Lions' 30-23 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He threw one interception, fumbled once and was sacked three times.
Analysis: Stafford, with a lot of tape covering his right cleat, stayed in the game after hurting his right ankle on his touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter when DT Tom Johnson fell on him. Even before getting hurt, Stafford struggled in this one, missing on some open receivers. As for the injury, it's certainly something to keep an eye on going into Detroit's next game, but at least Stafford has a few extra days off.
|Nov. 19, 2017 1:58 PM PT2:58 PM MT3:58 PM CT4:58 PM ET21:58 GMT5:58 2:58 PM MST4:58 PM EST3:58 PM CT1:58 UAE (+1)16:58 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 21 of 31 for 299 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the Detroit Lions' 27-24 win over the Chicago Bears. Analysis: Stafford continues to have a brilliant season. He's thrown for 909 yards with seven touchdowns and one interception over his last three games.
|Nov. 12, 2017 1:40 PM PT2:40 PM MT3:40 PM CT4:40 PM ET21:40 GMT5:40 2:40 PM MST4:40 PM EST3:40 PM CT1:40 UAE (+1)16:40 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 17 of 26 for 249 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the Detroit Lions' 38-24 win over the Cleveland Browns. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was sacked four times. Stafford added 17 rushing yards on four carries.
Analysis: Stafford has 17 TDs to just five INTs this season, and three of those picks came in the same forgettable game.
|Nov. 6, 2017 7:49 PM PT8:49 PM MT9:49 PM CT10:49 PM ET3:49 GMT11:49 8:49 PM MST10:49 PM EST9:49 PM CT7:49 UAE (+1)22:49 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 26 of 33 for 361 yards and threw two touchdown passes Monday in the Detroit Lions' 30-17 win over the Green Bay Packers. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked one time.
Analysis: Stafford ripped apart a Green Bay defense which barely put a hand on him the entire night, resulting in a season-high 132.4 passer rating for the highly paid quarterback. Though he hasn't had the most consistent of seasons, Stafford has now amassed nearly 1,100 yards through the air over the last three games and is on pace for 28 touchdown passes at the midway point. He'll next take on the winless Browns this Sunday.
|Oct. 29, 2017 8:12 PM PT9:12 PM MT10:12 PM CT11:12 PM ET3:12 GMT11:12 8:12 PM MST10:12 PM EST9:12 PM CT7:12 UAE (+1)23:12 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 27 of 45 for 423 yards and didn't throw a touchdown pass Sunday in the Detroit Lions' 20-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Stafford added 11 rushing yards on one carry.
Analysis: Stafford's 423 yards represents the fifth-highest total of his career, but it sure seems hollow without a touchdown. He didn't throw a pick for the fifth time in seven games but was also held without a TD pass for the second time. Stafford and the Lions are at Green Bay next Monday night.
|Oct. 15, 2017 3:05 PM PT4:05 PM MT5:05 PM CT6:05 PM ET22:05 GMT6:05 3:05 PM MST5:05 PM EST5:05 PM CT2:05 UAE (+1)18:05 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 25 of 52 for 312 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the Detroit Lions' 52-38 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He threw three interceptions, fumbled twice and was sacked five times. Stafford added four rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: Stafford made his share of mistakes but managed to salvage his fantasy day with three touchdowns. Still, he threw his first three picks since a Week 1 win over Arizona.
|Oct. 13, 2017 12:18 PM PT1:18 PM MT2:18 PM CT3:18 PM ET19:18 GMT3:18 12:18 PM MST2:18 PM EST2:18 PM CT23:18 UAE15:18 ETNaN: - Stafford is active for Sunday's game against the Saints as expected despite being listed as questionable because of an ankle problem.
Analysis: He's been limited a bit in practice, but the injury is not expected to hold him back this weekend and he's a top QB play against a weak Saints secondary.
|Oct. 8, 2017 1:24 PM PT2:24 PM MT3:24 PM CT4:24 PM ET20:24 GMT4:24 1:24 PM MST3:24 PM EST3:24 PM CT0:24 UAE (+1)16:24 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 23 of 35 for 229 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the Detroit Lions' 27-24 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He did not throw an interception, fumbled once and was sacked six times.
Analysis: Twelve of the Stafford's 18 sacks on the season have come in the last two games.
|Oct. 1, 2017 12:49 PM PT1:49 PM MT2:49 PM CT3:49 PM ET19:49 GMT3:49 12:49 PM MST2:49 PM EST2:49 PM CT23:49 UAE15:49 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 19 of 31 for 209 yards and didn't throw a touchdown pass Sunday in the Detroit Lions' 14-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked six times.

|Sep. 24, 2017 3:44 PM PT4:44 PM MT5:44 PM CT6:44 PM ET22:44 GMT6:44 3:44 PM MST5:44 PM EST5:44 PM CT2:44 UAE (+1)18:44 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 25 of 45 for 264 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Detroit Lions' 30-26 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Stafford added 19 rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: Stafford had his worst game of the season against Atlanta, but was hurt by some drops and nearly had his second TD of the game on the final play before it was nullified. Although his completion percentage was poor, Stafford still looked sharp and guided the Lions to some long drives. He should be better next week against Minnesota.
|Sep. 18, 2017 8:09 PM PT9:09 PM MT10:09 PM CT11:09 PM ET3:09 GMT11:09 8:09 PM MST10:09 PM EST10:09 PM CT7:09 UAE (+1)23:09 ETNaN: - Matthew Stafford was 15 of 21 for 122 yards and threw two touchdown passes Monday in the Detroit Lions' 24-10 win over the New York Giants. He did not throw an interception, fumbled once and was sacked three times. Stafford added 23 rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: The 122 yards is the second-lowest mark of Stafford's career. He threw for 83 yards on Sept. 12, 2010, at Chicago. The low output wasn't a reflection on Stafford, who only threw four passes after halftime with his team in control on the scoreboard. Stafford has six TDs and one interception through two games with a big test next week against Atlanta.
|Sep. 10, 2017 5:01 PM PT6:01 PM MT7:01 PM CT8:01 PM ET0:01 GMT8:01 5:01 PM MST7:01 PM EST7:01 PM CT4:01 UAE (+1)20:01 ETNaN: - Stafford completed 29 of 41 passes for 292 yards and four touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 35-23 win over Arizona.
Analysis: The league's new highest-paid player got his season off to a brutal start by throwing a pick six on his initial attempt, but redeemed himself by tossing three TDs in the second half to help Detroit overcome a 17-9 deficit. Stafford should be a solid fantasy starter most weeks, though he may be more of a borderline QB1 with a potentially tough road matchup with the Giants next up.
|Aug. 28, 2017 6:57 PM PT7:57 PM MT8:57 PM CT9:57 PM ET1:57 GMT9:57 6:57 PM MST8:57 PM EST8:57 PM CT5:57 UAE (+1)21:57 ETNaN: - Stafford will become the highest-paid player in NFL history after agreeing to a five-year deal with the Lions, ESPN reported Monday. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth $135 million, which averages out to $27 million per year. That would surpass the five-year deal that pays $25 million annually to Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, who signed his contract last month.
Analysis: Stafford was the No. 1 overall pick in 2009, following the Lions' 0-16 season. He has started 109 games, compiling a 51-58 record. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and has led Detroit to two playoff berths. In 2016, Stafford completed 65.3 percent of his passes for 4,327 yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions with a 70.5 passer rating while starting all 16 games for the Lions, who finished 9-7.
