(AP) -- Although no one in baseball has issued more walks than the San Diego Padres' Jason Marquis, he hasn't lost in almost two months.
Marquis goes for a ninth consecutive victory and fourth in a row over the Los Angeles Dodgers, who visit Petco Park for the first time since April's bench-clearing brawl Thursday night.
After giving up a season-high seven runs in 4 2-3 innings in a 7-1 loss to Milwaukee on April 22, Marquis (9-2, 3.63 ERA) has gone 8-0 with a 3.25 ERA over a 10-start stretch. The veteran right-hander, who's allowed at least four base on balls in all but two of those outings, has surrendered 47 walks on the season.
