May 7 8:53 AM PT9:53 AM MT10:53 AM CT11:53 AM ET15:53 GMT23:53 8:53 AM MST10:53 AM EST19:53 UAE17:5311:53 ET10:53 AM CT14:53 - The Indiana Pacers made it official Wednesday: Bynum's season is over. About seven hours before facing Washington in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, team officials said the oft-injured Bynum would miss the rest of the playoffs and would not even be with the team for the rest of the postseason. Indiana lost Game 1 on Monday in the best-of-seven series.
Analysis: Bynum had been battling a sore right knee even before he signed with the team Feb. 1 from Cleveland. The Pacers hoped he could add depth behind All-Star center Roy Hibbert. Bynum looked good in his Pacers debut, but he played only one more game, finishing the season with averages of 11.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in 26 games overall.
Apr. 7 9:11 PM PT10:11 PM MT11:11 PM CT12:11 AM ET4:11 GMT12:11 9:11 PM MST11:11 PM EST8:11 UAE06:110:11 ET11:11 PM CT3:11 - Top-seeded Indiana won't have Andrew Bynum for its first-round series against Atlanta. Coach Frank Vogel said Thursday that he believes the Pacers' oft-injured center could still work his way back for the playoffs. But he won't be available for the first round, which opens Saturday in Indianapolis.
Analysis: The Pacers signed the free agent in early February with hope he would add depth behind All-Star center Roy Hibbert. Bynum looked good in his Pacers debut, finishing with eight points and 10 rebounds. But he hasn't played since March 15 because of a sore right knee.
Mar. 11 9:24 AM PT10:24 AM MT11:24 AM CT12:24 PM ET16:24 GMT0:24 9:24 AM MST11:24 AM EST20:24 UAE17:2412:24 ET10:24 AM CT15:24 - More than a month after signing the free agent center, Bynum is expected to make his debut with Indiana on Tuesday night against Boston.
Analysis: The 7-foot Bynum averaged 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 24 games with Cleveland before being suspended indefinitely in December. He was eventually traded to the Bulls and released. Indiana then signed the former All-Star on Feb. 1.
Feb. 1 9:56 AM PT10:56 AM MT11:56 AM CT12:56 PM ET17:56 GMT1:56 10:56 AM MST12:56 PM EST21:56 UAE18:5612:56 ET11:56 AM CT15:56 - The Indiana Pacers are adding size and scoring to the Eastern Conference's best team Saturday, signing free agent center Andrew Bynum for the rest of the season. Team officials did not release additional details of the contract. He is expected to join the team next week.
Analysis: Because Indiana had an open spot on its roster, it will not have to make a roster move to add the mercurial 7-foot-1, 285-pound backup to All-Star center Roy Hibbert. Bynum has played only 24 games since the 2011-12 season ended. He played with Cleveland before "conduct detrimental to the team" forced a trade to Chicago, which then released him. He was averaging 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds this year with Cleveland and has career averages of 11.5 points and 7.7 rebounds.
Dec. 28 8:53 AM PT9:53 AM MT10:53 AM CT11:53 AM ET16:53 GMT0:53 9:53 AM MST11:53 AM EST20:53 UAE17:5311:53 ET10:53 AM CT14:53 - Bynum has been suspended indefinitely from the team for detrimental conduct and banned from all team activities. Bynum, who signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the Cavs this summer, did not travel with the team to Boston for Saturday's game. It's possible that Bynum has played his final game with the Cavs.
Analysis: Earlier this season, Bynum talked about retirement and said his numerous knee problems have been a challenge to overcome. The Cavs only guaranteed Bynum $6 million on his deal, and they can clear more salary cap space if he is traded or released by Jan. 7.
Dec. 7 9:25 PM PT10:25 PM MT11:25 PM CT12:25 AM ET5:25 GMT13:25 10:25 PM MST12:25 AM EST9:25 UAE06:250:25 ET11:25 PM CT3:25 - Bynum had 20 points and a season-high 13 rebounds in Friday's 108-89 loss at Atlanta.

Analysis: Bynum, who did not play last season for Philadelphia because of knee injuries and surgeries, has made good progress and Cleveland coach Mike Brown said the 7-foot-center could begin practicing with the Cavaliers in the near future. Brown said Bynum looked good in half-court workouts this week and has been impressed by the former All-Star's work ethic. Bynum signed a two-year, $25 million contract with the Cavs in July.
