Analysis: Nowitzki returned from an eight-game absence because of the injury and played against the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland last week before sitting again at home against New Orleans on Sunday. He also missed two games early in the season with an illness. Nowitzki will miss Wednesday's game against San Antonio and a trip to Charlotte on Thursday.
Nov. 25 6:32 PM PT7:32 PM MT8:32 PM CT9:32 PM ET2:32 GMT10:32 7:32 PM MST9:32 PM EST6:32 UAE (+1)03:3221:32 ET8:32 PM CTNaN: - Nowitzki scored 15 points on 7-of-18 shooting with six rebounds Friday in his fifth game of the season because of an injured right Achilles.
Analysis: It's hard to judge Nowitzki because the Mavs are just a mess right now and he's playing under a minutes limit as he works his way back into game shape after a long layoff. It'll be interesting to see if the consistent losing wears on the veteran and if he could just shut it down at some point this season.
Nov. 4 6:40 AM PT7:40 AM MT8:40 AM CT9:40 AM ET13:40 GMT21:40 6:40 AM MST8:40 AM EST17:40 UAE14:409:40 ET7:40 AM CTNaN: - Nowitzki made his long-awaited return Wednesday, netting 10 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes in the Mavericks' loss to the Clippers.
Analysis: Nowitzki was understandably rusty in his first game since Nov. 4, finishing 3 for 10 from the field. The Mavericks will continue to monitor the 38-year-old's minutes as he makes his way back from a sore Achilles, so his fantasy value isn't particularly high at the moment.

Analysis: The future Hall of Famer had missed Dallas' last two games with a sore Achilles and a stomach ailment. He played 29 minutes Wednesday but was ineffective.

Analysis: He played 38 minutes in an overtime loss to Indiana in the season opener Wednesday before missing the shootaround prior to Friday night's game. Carlisle wouldn't commit to Nowitzki making the trip to Houston over the weekend. The Mavericks play the Rockets again Sunday in Houston's home opener. The coach said it appeared Nowitzki would play earlier Friday, ''so this must be something that's come around very quickly.'' Nowitzki had 22 points and eight rebounds Wednesday.

Analysis: Nowitzki's new contract will give him a chance to spend 20 seasons with the only franchise he has ever played for. Nowitzki figures to become the sixth player in NBA history and seventh player overall to reach 30,000 career points next season.
