|July 15 11:40 AM PT12:40 PM MT1:40 PM CT2:40 PM ET18:40 GMT2:40 11:40 AM MST1:40 PM EST22:40 UAE20:4014:40 ET1:40 PM CT17:40 - A person familiar with the situation says Dwyane Wade is staying with the Miami Heat. Wade has agreed to a two-year deal with a player option for 2015-16, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Tuesday because neither Wade nor the Heat immediately announced the terms.
Analysis: Wade made reference to the deal Tuesday, tweeting ''Home Is Where the Heart Is'' and calling himself a "HeatLifer" in a photo of him below Miami's three NBA championship banners. Wade is entering his 12th Heat season and is the franchise's all-time leader in games, points, assists and steals. Last month, he opted out of a deal that would have paid him $42 million over the next two seasons.
|July 12 1:38 PM PT2:38 PM MT3:38 PM CT4:38 PM ET20:38 GMT4:38 1:38 PM MST3:38 PM EST0:38 UAE (+1)22:3816:38 ET3:38 PM CT19:38 - Wade says he is sad to see LeBron James leave the Miami Heat, and he supports him regardless.
Analysis: Wade released a statement Saturday calling James ''my brother,'' and saying he knows James' decision to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers was not an easy one for the four-time NBA MVP. Together, James, Wade and Chris Bosh went to the NBA Finals in each of their four Miami seasons together, winning the championship twice. James announced Friday he is leaving for the Cavaliers, and hours later Bosh agreed to a five-year, $118 million deal to stay with the Heat.
|June 28 11:43 AM PT12:43 PM MT1:43 PM CT2:43 PM ET18:43 GMT2:43 11:43 AM MST1:43 PM EST22:43 UAE20:4314:43 ET1:43 PM CT17:43 - Wade told the Miami Heat on Saturday that he is opting out of the final two years on his contract, which means he is free to talk to any team on July 1. It's the same option James exercised earlier this week. The move also comes three days after Wade, James and Chris Bosh met at a posh Miami Beach hotel to discuss their futures.
Analysis: By opting out, Wade forgoes the remaining $41.8 million in his current deal and will sign a new contract with the Heat or any other club. The move also provides the Heat financial flexibility to sign additional players while quite possibly being able to convince Wade and James into staying. Bosh has the same opt-out option and has not yet announced his plans.

Analysis: Wade has missed 19 games this season, mostly by design. Team officials wanted him to rest his sore knees so he could kick things into high gear for the playoffs.
