He remained in the hospital overnight and was released Sunday morning.
Analysis: Neuvirth was awaiting a faceoff at the far end of the ice about 7 1/2 minutes in when he fell backward and landed on his back. Flyers trainer Jim McCrossin quickly ran onto the ice to attend to the 29-year-old and was joined by three other team doctors. Neuvirth, making his 28th appearance of the season and first since March 25, appeared to be unconscious for a brief time, but began moving his arms and legs and sat up in his crease before being placed on a stretcher.

Analysis: Despite going 1-3-0 with a 4.00 GAA in his last four starts, Neuvirth now has the pole position to be the Flyers' starter next season after he and Steve Mason were each set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The 28-year-old Neuvirth has served as the backup to Steve Mason for much of the season, posting a 10-9-1 record with a 2.90 goals-against average and .887 save percentage. He posted superior numbers - 18-8-1, .227 GAA, .908 -- with Philadelphia last year.

Analysis: Unless Mason excels, look for Neuvirth to be back in the crease for Saturday's matchup with San Jose. The Czech has yielded only five goals while starting four of the Flyers' last five games.

Analysis: Neuvirth did record Philadelphia's only win with a 23-save effort at Los Angeles, but his latest performance didn't help his cause in his competition with Steve Mason for the No. 1 netminder job. Mason came on in relief to stop nine of 11 shots Tuesday.
